After returning from WWII to a wife and two young children, Bob Roney Sr. opened Roney's Half-Price in Oakland, CA in 1946. Offering a variety goods, Bob packed the store to the rafters and offered a hands on approach to customer service that has been passed on down the line and continues today. His two children, Katie and Bob Jr. , joined the business in their twenties and eventually helped to relocate Roney's to it's current location in San Leandro, CA. Together with their children, Joanne and Robert, the Roney family continues to cultivate a 'customers first ' approach that distinguishes Roney's from other retail options for home furnishings.
Roney's San Leandro location was a National Guard Armory storing vehicles, munitions and offices until 1974, when Roney's acquired the property and choice showroom. With an expansive warehouse floor and high windowed ceiling that bathes the space in natural light, It is an ideal place to display and view our manufacturers. We also have a full complement of catalogues and leather/fabric samples from multiple manufacturers, and confident, non-commissioned expertise to help guide you through the selection process for upholstered pieces or custom office/bedroom furniture (Stuart David) designed by you.
Members of our family are available every day of the week via telephone and in person to help with any inquiries you may have regarding the availability of our selections and ordering options. We also offer interior design services through H&H Designs, working together to bring you more complex redesign options to transform entire spaces.
